If you like foodies and hockey then this one is for you

My review of:

Grumpily Yours  (Stick Taps # 2)

Author:  Teagan Hunter

Firstly, I should like to say thank you for my 5 star ARC of this book. Teagan Hunter is becoming one of my favorite authors to read. I have loved every book of hers that I have read and this one goes on the list as being awesome too. All the characters were fantastic. So great to read a book where there were no mean girls and bully boys. Everything about this story was beautiful. The main characters and the way their romance developed. Summer and Ezra's chemistry was undeniable from the moment they first met in the Sheriff's office. Summer's sunny disposition had to rub off on grumpy Ezra but the way it happened was beautiful to read. I truly like how Ezra the bad grumpy boy avoiding traffic tickets from the Sheriff who happened to be Summer's father was an important part of the book and referred to on several occasions. Any books that involve food and hockey are magic to my eyes to read. I would definitely recommend this to those who like foodies and hockey players. There was nothing I disliked about this book except that it had to end. I look forward to reading more books by Teagan and hopefully more about Stick Taps. A must read for fans of this author and newbies will love it too.

Whose Broad Stripes and Bright Stars

Author: Faith Carter

Firstly, my thanks for my ARC of this book. This whole series has been great and each book is fantastic with this being no exception. These hockey dudes are really all so loveable and charming and not to mention extremely handsome. This book was my first by this author and was a total delight from the first line to the last. I absolutely devoured this book. The characters were absolutely great and I certainly felt their chemistry from the very beginning. Interesting that the stepbrother and main male character were not fond of each other but look how things worked out. Piper was delightful. Very sweet and unselfish. I loved how she befriended Chase's sister and I also loved what a great brother Chase was. This was such a charming book and gave us a glimpse into the lives of some fantastic family oriented characters. Definitely a must read as part of this series and has made me want to read more of this author's books.

Let's Imagine .......

My review of:

The Reimagined Life of Jade Morrow

Author:  Vannetta Chapman

Firstly, I would like to thank Vannetta and her team for my ARC of this book. This 5 star book was a departure of the author's usual fiction books. This book is a very interesting book and different from anything else I have ever read. The author must have had to do a phenomenal amount of research for the reimagined lives between chapters. What was so well done was that as Jade wrote about lives of the famous that she reimagined endings for she was working on herself. I didn't like her at first. I loved her neighbors and friends though. All the characters were definitely interesting personalities and like Jade they were changing their endings too. Jade had a lot of weight on shoulders and it was great to see her personality changing and developing and learning of the burdens she had suffered. I thought the ending just about said it all. Vannetta this was truly a magnificent book. As always your writing was exemplary and a delight to read. The conversations between the characters was so brilliantly done that one could almost imagine the three main characters and expecting how they would act and talk. I think fans of Vannetta will be surprised by the departure from her usual fiction books but will end up totally enthralled. New to this author? This is a fabulous place to start and I am sure you will enjoy and get to love her as much as her devoted fans do.

This book is a sweet to be devoured like those made by Lila and Knox.

My review of:

Hexing the Hot Priest (London Magic, # 2)

Author:  Angela Pearse

Firstly I should like to thank the author for my ARC of this book. Angela Pearse has done it again with this book, the second in London Magic series. Absolutely an easy 5 stars to award and would give more if I could. Magic, hot guys, foodies and the best comedy in a book I have read in a long time. I thought this was a hilarious rom-com and I laughed so much I got hiccups. Lila and Knox were brilliant main characters. I honestly could see them hosting a cooking show. That is how real the author wrote them. As always with Angela , the narrative was superb and all the conversations and banter absolutely brilliant. I loved the witches, a devil, spells, a cat like no other and some of the best non main characters ever written who could have their own books. I loved the first book in the series. I loved this second one even more and I am now eagerly awaiting the 3rd. I believe that fans of the author will know exactly what I am saying here. If you have not read this author please, please pick up a copy of this book which can be read as a stand alone. I would be really disappointed to learn that a new reader didn't love it as much as I did. I would be shocked. This has to be a best seller.

A Fantastic Way to Celebrate 250 years of the USA.

My review of:

At the Twilight's Last Gleaming

Author:  Ellie Hall

Firstly, I should like to say thank your for my ARC of this book. What a great 5 star read this was. I found this story to be charming and somewhat different to most books with this trope. I won't say anything so as not to spoil it for others. I absolutely loved everything about this book. The characters were wonderful and beautifully written. Here is where I give a shout out to Peanut. I smiled as I read this and chuckled to myself several times. Izzy's boss reminded me of a boss I had and I couldn't wait to leave that job. I wasn't fond of her work colleague or the client that Izzy lost to her. The hockey players were all fantastic and were really good friends to Jake and this whole series up to this point has shown a side to hockey players that some never see. If you are reading this series then this is a must read. If you are not reading the series, pick up this one as they can all be read as a stand alone and I would bet after reading this you will want to go back and read the others as well as those still to come. This series is fabulous. I love how it is celebrating the USA's 250th birthday.

Dark, psychological thriller with a capital T!

My review of:

 Rising Waters (Crime Daily Podcast)

Author:  Aleatha Romig

Firstly, my thanks for an ARC copy of this book from the author via Hambright. I gave this book 5 stars and have to say I was surprised by it. I have not read a book like this before from Aleatha but I loved this. I found that it was brilliant. The plot was very twisted and certainly kept me guessing from beginning to end. The writing was impeccable as always and I loved the conversations throughout the book and how real Aleatha made them. This book was intriguing, fascinating and captivating. I found myself not wanting to put it down and at times talking out loud to it. The characters from the MC to all others were wonderfully written and felt like real people to me. This book took me on a roller coaster ride of twists and turns I did not expect. This was an intense psychological thriller with a capital T drawing the reader in and keeping them totally enthralled. I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy dark stories and I am sure all Aleatha fans know what I am saying here. If you have not read this author before and enjoy dark thrillers this is a must read. I am sure you will be blown away by the story and writing and not disappointed at all.
